Queen's Platinum Jubilee Art Competition
To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, LGfL in partnership with Royal Collection Trust, ran an art competition last term. The competition was an opportunity for pupils to create their own celebration to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, in the form of an original art creation.
Initially, teachers chose 10 entries from our school and then the LGfL Curriculum team shortlisted entries for the second round of judging.
The Deputy Surveyor of Paintings and the Director of Royal Collection Trust have now undertaken the second round of judging and across the age categories (4-5-year olds/5-7-year olds/8-11-year olds/12-year olds and older) there were twelve winning designs chosen.
These pieces of art will be specially printed and displayed prominently in the Family Pavilion at Buckingham Palace between July and September 2022. The winners will also be invited to see their printed artwork in Buckingham Palace on a chosen date in September.
We are delighted to announce that we had one finalist that was chosen for highly commended piece of artwork in the second round of judging – Zac.
We are even more delighted to announce that we had one finalist that has won one of the twelve final places in the competition and will have her original piece of artwork displayed at Buckingham Palace – Lidia.
What a fantastic achievement, we are all so very proud of your efforts.
A huge well done to all of the children that took part in the competition, we had lots of fabulous pieces of work submitted.
